Ministries
Cleaves Memorial C.M.E. Church has a multitude of ministries to get involved in to promote fellowship and connection within the church. From Choir to Hospitality, we have a place for you.
These ministries use various forms of media, including audio recordings, video productions, and digital platforms, to reach and engage audiences with their messages of faith, hope, and inspiration. This ministry provides opportunities to learn to operate audio and video system, for worship services and special programs.
Bible Study
The Pastor teaches a bible study on the Tuesday before the first Sunday
at 7:00 p.m. This is a combined setting allowing a wonderful array of input from both the male/female perspectives. This study covers general topics and provides opportunities for persons to ask questions. Bible Study on Wednesdays is from 6:30-7:30 PM MT. Contact the church via email for the link.
Board of Hospitality
The hospitality ministry welcomes guests who are visiting the church and reads the
worship service announcements.They serve as hostesses for Episcopal meetings and conference conveying at the church.
Bus Ministry
The bus ministry provides transportation to and from church and church school. The ministry also provides transportation to programs and to other church functions as needed.
Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF)
CYF, is an organization for youth ages 12-17, teaching Christian principles and providing wholesome actives for them to foster their relationship with Jesus.
Church Aid
Serves as an aid to the church by regular surveys of church needs. The
results are reported to the Trustees. They sponsor yearly Christmas Baskets and Soup Festivals. The proceeds are given to the church for special projects or programs.
Children’s Church
Children are provided special learning experiences each Sunday
morning by teachers who have undergone special training for teaching children.
Mass Choir
A ministry group which furnishes music during worship service. They will
also present other musical events such as concerts, musicals and fellowship services.
Missionary Society
The women’s organization providing educational activities on all
levels. They develop programs and resources to meet the needs of the church and community while providing outreach ministries throughout the world.
Steward Board
Confirmed officers who are responsible for the temporal affairs of the
church and planting seeds to grow the church. Some of their duties along with stewardess, include setting the Pastor’s salary.
Stewardess Board
Women officers of the church who are appointed by the Pastor
and confirmed by the Quarterly Conference. They serve the table of the Lord, the poor and the ministry.
Trustee Board
Responsible for the upkeep of all properties of the church. They act as
agents of the church regarding legal matters relating to properties.
